The essence of experimental music is in its live performance. The challenge for documenting these ephemeral moments is to keep the integrity of the performance true; to faithfully recreate the experience so that the listener will, possibly for the first time, begin to see with their ears and maybe discover a new or hidden sensation from within.
All tracks recorded by Bivouac have been recorded, mixed, and mastered using professional equipment and standard and experimental recording techniques. During live recording, the use of any effects are never used and very minimally utilized during the mixdown and mastering stages.
Below is our ever growing portfolio of live recordings for free or paid download. Most of our recordings are from artists in or around China and Asia but as always music needs no translation. If you would like to include a recording of your live performance for free or paid download, then please contact us.
All recordings are exclusively available on Bivouac in Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC) Format. FLAC is a non-lossy music format, which means that the audio quality of the FLAC file is equal to the original audio file it was encoded from- NO data is lost. For more information visit flac.sourceforge.net. All files are listened to and inspected for quality before listing so you can be confident that your new digital purchase or download is of the highest possible quality. Please note that media from previous live recordings are located in the Resource section under 'Archive'.
