Bivouac is an avant-garde experimental music label currently based in Shanghai, China. Our mission is to bring you the highest quality avant-garde experimental music recordings found on the web today. Founded in 2003 in New York City, Bivouac has always been looking to advance experimental music by featuring the most innovative artists and compiling a comprehensive resource to create the most inspirational experience possible. All Artists featured here were selected not only for their innovation of their sound but also in their meticulous composition and execution of their album.
All Albums are exclusively available on Bivouac in Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC) Format. FLAC is a non-lossy music format, which means that the audio quality of the FLAC file is equal to the original audio file it was encoded from- NO data is lost. All albums are listened to and inspected for quality before listing so you can be confident that your new digital purchase is of the highest possible quality. Please note that media from the 40+ musicians of previous installations have been relocated to the Resource section.
